About Me

Most traditional medicine approaches pain problems with medications and surgeries. As a labor and delivery nurse for over 20 years, I understand the frustrating effects of these approaches. But what if there is another way?

John F Barnes Myofascial Release has changed the way I think about our bodies. In myofascial release treatment, I identify areas indicative of restriction (it might feel hot, hard or tender), and apply physical pressure, stretching, holding, compression, or gentle rocking (known as rebounding) to the area. This allows the restricted areas to soften, and re-hydrate, so that the connective tissue can be more fluid and promote healing. Because fascia is all interconnected, someone having pain in their shoulder, for example, might actually have a rotation in their hips that is causing the pain. For this reason I will start with a full body assessment. I treat the pain and look elsewhere for the cause.

Since I have started on this journey I have less knee and back pain and very few headaches. When something does flair up, I use effective MFR strategies to self treat. Let me treat you and guide you to pain free life. Anything is possible.
